Pet Relief/Flood Disaster

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE PET RELIEF EFFORT IN KENTUCKY AND OHIO

Lori Gauther is trying to save the animal victims of floods and mud slides throughout Kentucky and Ohio. Lori is 37 years old and has suffered from 4 heart attacks since 1993. Still, she gets up at 4:30 a.m. and begins her day loading 50 lb. bags of dog food, boxes of donated supplies and canned dog food into a car and then spends her days rescuing trapped animals, cleaning the mud, diesel fuel and tons of other stuff off of them, and delivering the donated supplies to those in need.

Here are the special needs for Lori:

  • People-power
  • Vehicles to carry supplies
  • Food and furniture
  • Money
  • Flea and tick collars; flea, tick, and lice sprays and shampoos
  • Cat and dog food, especially canned food
  • Food bowls, collars, blankets, disposable gloves, towels, ear mite medicine
  • Bottle lids from 2-liter soda bottles (not the bottle, just the caps)
  • An attorney to file 501(c)3 papers, hopefully gratis for Lori
  • People to spread the word
  • Contacts with news media
  • Prayers for everyone in the area

A mailing list has been started to assist Lori and receive updates nightly. To subscribe send an e-mail to:
pet-relief-request@lofcom.com
with the word subscribe in the subject of the message.

Your Help Is Needed!

There are two ways to make monetary donations for this cause.

  1. Make checks payable to Lori Gauthier
  2. On the check, somewhere, write the words PET RELIEF/FLOOD DISASTER
  3. Send them to:
    2342 U.S. Hwy 68
    Maysville, KY 41056

If you feel uncomfortable with this method then please follow these instructions:

  1. Make checks payable to PET RELIEF/FLOOD DISASTER
  2. Send checks to:
    Trans Financial Bank
    1176 U.S. Hwy 68
    Maysville, KY 41056

100% of all donations, no matter which way the checks are filled out go to the pet relief effort. For anyone still concerned about donations please contact Genie Insko at Trans Financial Bank. Her number is 606-564-0683.

Additionally Lori tells of the devastation suffered by residents in these areas as well. There seems to be no major effort at this point to help the people in the area either. People are living on their porches because they have no floors left in their homes, food and supplies sit waiting to be delivered because volunteers can't get vehicles to deliver them, and people are literally starving.

These people desperately need food and furniture!
